Business Meeting Minutes

Western NC Business Meeting: March 26th , 2011

Meeting brought to order by President, Diane Bowen
Secretary report read by Marci Timmins and accepted by members.
Financial report was read by Becky Bottoms.
Old business:
1. Continue to address standing rules and bylaws.
2. Discuss future meetings and being financially prudent and good stewards of WNCSGNA money.
3. Need to coordinate meetings with the board.
New business:
1. Implement electronic registration and payment for meetings.
2. Continue to enhance website.
3. Invest portion of WNCSGNA funds in interest bearing account.
Scholarship recipient for national meeting-Margaret Arp.
Certification and recertification scholarship went to Margaret Arp, Diane Bowen and Debbie Orndorff.
Review Resolutions for 2011 House of Delegates.
1. Decrease in membership cost for endo techs- accepted/supported.
2. Having decrease in tuition or no tuition if speaking at annual course- accepted/ supported.
3. Emailing brochures from SGNA to targeted states for local meetings- accepted/ supported.
4. Standard use of sterile water vs, tap water- accepted/supported.
5. 2 year membership offered- no determination-need more info.
6. Recognition of facilities for excellence in practice- no determination-need more info.
